Industry Super Australia’s member funds are working to ensure claims or enquiries received from survivors, firefighters or those helping with recovery efforts receive priority status.
Industry Super Australia head of research Nick Coates said fast-tracking claims, providing advice and offering an elevated priority service for members and employers affected by the bushfires would help to reduce stress at a heightened time for many individuals and businesses.
“Industry super funds stand ready to provide their members affected by the bushfires with the support they need when they need it,” he said.
“This is one small way industry super funds can help, by making it easier for thousands of Australians impacted by bushfires to get the information, service and support they deserve.”
Industry funds are also analysing their data to identify members and employers in bushfire areas and working on the best ways to provide them with support in the short term.
Enquiries will continue to be monitored to identify and assess any common themes or issues members are facing to make sure the right level of information and support is being provided.
People with questions about their super or the support available should call their industry super fund direct.
