$1 billion in Australian beef exports at risk under unwarranted trade restrictions

Cattle Australia chair Garry Edwards said China is a long-term and important market for Australian beef and new safeguard measures proposed by China will impact the equivalent of more than $1 billion in trade.

The Australian beef industry is still facing a $1 billion hit in exports following the Chinese Ministry of Commerce’s (MOFCOM) December announcement it will implement global safeguard measures.
