A man is fighting for his life after the second shooting in suburban Sydney in as many days.

Police were called to a home in Blackett in Western Sydney on Wednesday night where they found a 29-year man with gunshot wounds to his body and head.

He was treated at the scene before being taken to Westmead Hospital in serious condition.

Police have urged anyone with CCTV footage or information about the attack to come forward.

It is unclear whether the incident is linked to a separate shooting in a Campsie parking facility on Tuesday night.

Police treated a 27-year-old man with gunshot injuries to his head and chest.

A short time later, emergency services were called to nearby Kingsgrove after reports of a car fire.

Police arrived to find a Mercedes sedan crashed into a house and alight, but no one was injured.

Officers are remaining tight-lipped about whether the incidents are linked to a string of gangland attacks that have left several people dead and seriously injured.
