A man hunt was launched after a Slacks Creek man, 41, was shot and critically injured south of Brisbane on Friday and died later in hospital.
Detectives charged Macey Collins of Carina Heights and a 42-year-old Eagleby man days later.
Collins was charged with murder, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and arson after a car was set alight.
The 42-year-old man was charged with being an accessory to murder, arson, driving unlicensed and using a vehicle with a cancelled number plate.
"Police are confident this was a targeted attack, and there is no ongoing threat to members of the public," Detective Acting Inspector Jason Kitto said of the shooting on Friday.
The victim was known to police, and it was believed the people involved knew each other.
It was the second shooting south of the city after a 35-year-old man was gunned down in a suburban park at Beenleigh.
The alleged gunman tried to escape police by hiding in a pond near a popular dog park before being taken into custody.
The fatal attacks rattled the community and prompted calls for greater police resourcing.
"This is not who we are - people deserve to feel safe," Logan Mayor Jon Raven said.
"We need the state government to take crime seriously and demonstrate that it won't be tolerated.
"When are we going to see more resources from police? This government was elected on the promise they would be tough on crime."
Collins' matter briefly appeared in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
It was adjourned until February 4 at Beenleigh Magistrates Court.
The 42-year-old man's matter will be heard later on Tuesday at Brisbane Magistrates Court.
