Grant applications are open to individuals and groups wishing to undertake heritage projects that will help conserve local items of significance.
The one-dollar-for-two-dollar funding program offers grants of up to $5000.
MRC mayor Chris Bilkey said he encouraged organisations with an interest in protecting and celebrating local heritage to apply.
"The funding is available to support conservation works and projects that provide sustainable long term heritage benefits to Murray River Council," he said.
"The local area is blessed to have a diverse range of local heritage ranging from small artefacts through to buildings and structures that are the legacy of pioneers past.
"I'd encourage interested applicants to look at the guidelines and see if their project might fit the criteria."
Priorities under the program include restoration or preservation projects comprising painting in period colours, repair and restoration of heritage features, the restoration of period front fences or other small conservation initiatives.
Guidelines and the online application can be accessed via Murray River Council's website, murrayriver.nsw.gov.au/community/grants/council-grant
Applications close September 30.
