And Crossenvale Community House is putting the call out for more volunteer bus drivers to take the wheel so locals can continue to enjoy affordable transport.
“The community transport bus delivers an affordable and beneficial transport option to people experiencing transport disadvantage in our community,” Crossenvale co-ordinator Sheridan Clark said.
“The bus can be used for purposes such as medical appointments, senior or community programs and social services appointments throughout Echuca and Moama.”
The Crossenvale Community Transport Program is a door-to-doorsupported service for aged people or those who have a disability and their carers.
The bus aims to help people struggling with transport disadvantage to stay independent and connected to the local community.
Volunteer bus drivers need to be outgoing and enjoy helping and meeting new people.
The Fit2work checks and police checks required for the role are paid for by Crossenvale Community House.

Costs vary depending on the destination and distance of travel.
There will be a small price increase for all from January 1, 2020, however Crossenvale still aims to provide affordable transport to local seniors.
