A MAN is behind bars and thousands of dollars' worth of stolen property has been recovered in an Echuca raid.

Detectives swooped on a High St unit on October 2, where they found about 12 items believed to be stolen.
“There were two bikes which have been identified, a carbon monoxide analyser, meter reader and other assorted items suspected of being stolen,” Detective Senior Constable Troy Wickham of Echuca Criminal Investigation Unit said.
“Anyone who believes any of these items might be theirs can contact Echuca Police Station on 5483 1500 to view them or organise collection.”
Kevin Saunders was arrested at the scene and charged with theft from Echuca railway station where he allegedly stole a backpack in August, theft from a vehicle in Shackell St on August 8, theft of a bike from Ada Court, burglary and theft from Annesley St, possessing items suspected of being stolen and contravening conduct condition of bail.
The 39-year-old was remanded in custody and appeared in Bendigo Magistrates Court on October 3.
His bail application was refused and he was further remanded to appear in Echuca Magistrates Court on November 26.
