LIFE in NSW will take another step towards normality on June 1 with pubs, clubs, cafes and restaurants set to be allowed up to 50 customers.
All venues will still need to follow strict social distancing rules, meaning one person per four square metres.
Under the changes, all customers must be seated with bookings of up to 10 people allowed.
“This decision has been made with expert health advice and both businesses and patrons will be subject to strict rules and guidelines,” NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian said.
Deputy Premier John Barilaro labelled the move as “a game-changer” as the state continues to look for a light at the end of the pandemic tunnel.
“It’s important for people to find a way to enjoy themselves and take a break from the daily pressures they are facing,” Mr Barilaro said.“A morale boost and the additional economic stimulus provided by pubs and clubs is what our communities need, and I look forward to enjoying a beer in the bush with locals very soon.”
Before opening their doors, venues must create a COVID Safety Plan.
Patrons have been advised to check with the venue before attending to ensure they will be able to attend.
