During Melbourne’s 11-week stage four lockdown, the couple knew it was time for them and their eight-month old son Lincoln to seek a new life.
That’s when they settled on the twin towns, with many of Monique’s relatives living north of the Murray.
“We’re going to be moving up from the Mornington Peninsula in early December,” Glenn said.
“We’ve been looking for a house for the past three months, but the demand has obviously been really strong.
“Andrew (Lochhead) and the Century 21 team have been really helpful by staying in consistent contact when new properties were appearing on the market.
“We came up to see the house the first weekend after the restrictions between metropolitan and regional areas were lifted.
“The former owner was actually nice enough to walk us through and explain how everything works because there are septic tanks installed which can be hard to understand.
“We’re looking forward to moving to a great community.”
Relocating his family means Glenn will also be leaving his plumbing business behind but he says he doesn’t want to take work away from those already established in Echuca-Moama.
“It won’t be easy to start over again and leave all the clients behind but I’m looking forward to the challenge,” he said.
“The whole change in lifestyle is going to take some adjustment but we’re confident we’ve made the right decision as a family.”
