The staff at the Echuca branch donated $500 to the Community Living and Respite Services enterprise as part of CommBank’s commitment to driving positive change within communities.
Commonwealth Bank has pledged to donate $500,000 nationally in the coming months to recognise organisations that make a difference in the communities in which we live and work.
Each Commonwealth Bank branch and staff team has been allocated $500 to donate to causes important to their community.
And so the Echuca branch voted to support the work of Murray River Tea Rooms.
‘‘We’re very excited to have the opportunity to support the tea rooms that help support people with disability to have the opportunity to gain retail and hospitality experience, so it’s great to be able to give back and support this work,’’ Echuca branch manager Lauren Phillips said.
Community Living and Respite chief executive Suzanna Barry said the organisation was absolutely thrilled to receive the cheque for the Murray River Tea Rooms.
‘‘We want to thank the staff of the Echuca branch for choosing us to receive this generous gift,’’ she said.
‘‘This will be used to purchase coffee beans which will generate further income for the Tea Rooms and enable us to continue to provide opportunities for people with disability.’’
