A Local Look with Garry Armstrong

Echuca Racing Club manager Garry Armstrong runs the rule over the local contenders in Sunday’s meeting. The third race looms as a local derby with six locals in the race, including four Archard runners.

Tapo (Race 2, No.12): Has shown ability at her previous starts, nicely drawn for a go-forward runner and with the 3kg claim for the in-form Rose Hammond, has to be a winning hope.

Perricootaprincess (Race 2, No.17): Third emergency, has been a fair way off them at her first three runs, a roughie to run a place.

Bamaman (Race 3, No.1): Will need luck from the wide draw.

Ha She (Race 3, No.8): Has been close at her past three, each way all day.

Live Life Loud (Race 3, No.9): Big finish at Kerang last start running second, can go one better here at nice each-way odds.

Mitrata (Race 3, No.10): Beaten a long way at Benalla last start, rough chance.

Pepin Island (Race 3, No.11): Not far away at her past three, could surprise.

Xtra Red (Race 3, No.13): Will be looking for a longer race in the next few starts.

Ring The Bank (Race 4, No.3): On present form, likely to find these a bit slick, but don’t completely dismiss his chances.

Lika Swift (Race 5, No.3): Last-start Kilmore winner, this is a step up in class, wide barrier no help, but still a winning hope.

Bon Shadow (Race 5, No.7): In good form, with a win and second from his last two runs, nice barrier and did beat Lika Swift two runs ago, can win this.

Got Out The Fence (Race 6, No.1): Strong win at Kerang last start, drawn to be able to race forward and could make it back-to-back victories.

Kia Hohe (Race 6, No.2): Racing very well, drawn beautifully in two and is a strong winning hope.

Bangerang Redback (Race 6, No.5): Another last-start winner at Donald three weeks ago, it looks like Rhys Archard may have found the key to him and he can win again.

Enamour (Race 6, No.14): Another last-start winner, very well drawn and must be in the leading chances – a local trifecta perhaps in Race 6.

A strong bunch of local hopes here on Sunday.

Best of the day: Race 2, No.12 Tapo.

Best value: Race 3, No.9 Live Life Loud.

Good luck to all our local horses, trainers and jockey for Sunday.
