Officers attached to Murray River Police District will be on duty at the Francis St facility from around noon, with the public able to attend thereafter.
Detective Chief Inspector Mick Fuller said it was important to note there would be no disruptions to police availability in Moama before the move.
“Murray River Police District will provide advice in the lead-up to (Wednesday) so the community knows where the new police station is and its contact numbers,” he said.
The modern, purpose-built facility is a major upgrade from the current Maiden St station, which was originally a house built in the 1950s.
Current standards for custody, office and public-facing facilities are met at the new station, which sits in a high-visibility area next to Cobb Hwy.
The sod was turned at the new site in March, and construction was initially expected to be completed in early October.
Detective Chief Inspector Fuller said NSW Police continually reviewed staffing and resources, and the station had been constructed to allow for more of both in the future.
“At this point, the current existing number of officers based in Moama will move from the old police station to the new police station,” he said.
“For the police who work there and the community that comes to the police, it will be a very modern facility.”
Once officers move to the new station, the old Maiden St location will no longer be open.
An official opening ceremony is expected to be held early next year.
Further updates will be provided on the official NSW Police site, and posted to the Murray River Police District Facebook page.
