The 2024 Murray Hut CWA STEM scholarship has been awarded to Alison Kleinschmidt.

Alison will be pursuing a double degree - a Bachelor of Arts (Economics) and Bachelor of Science - at Monash University’s School of Earth, Atmosphere, and Environment.

Murray Hut CWA recently conducted interviews with five outstanding Year 12 students from Finley High School for the annual STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Scholarship.

Panellists AnneMarie Deans and Julie Stava said they were impressed by the exceptional calibre of candidates, each demonstrating remarkable skills, positive attitudes, and a strong commitment to pursuing careers in STEM.

“Alison's thoughtful application and impressive interview performance highlighted her ambition, passion and immense potential,” they said.

Additionally, Murray Hut CWA would like to commend Finley High School for fostering such ambitious, confident and intelligent young women.

“This accomplishment is a testament to the outstanding teaching and leadership within the school community.”

Reflecting on her achievement, Alison said: “Being chosen for this scholarship, given the strengths and abilities of the other applicants, is a tremendous honour”.

Murray Hut CWA congratulated Alison and looks forward to seeing the positive contributions she will make in her field of study and beyond.
