Ally McKenzie has well exceeded her goal for raising funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

With the support of her family, friends and the wider community, she has raised $5100 so far with donations still being accepted.

But Ally also made a personal sacrifice for the cause, and snipped off 67cm of hair to be donated to the Peter Mack Foundation and made into wigs.

The selfless teenager originally set a goal of raising $2500 for her ‘Cut For A Cause’ event.

The cut took place Sunday at SRM Hair and Beauty, owned by Ally’s mother, Sharyn McKenzie.

There was a big turn out of supporters to cheer Ally on.

Part of the fundraising total was raised through a barbecue held on the day and a raffle, as well as the sale of various items, such as keychains.

If you missed your chance to donate before Sunday’s event, donations are still being accepted online. Go to https://fundraise.nbcf.org.au/fundraisers/allymckenzie for more information.
