Jerilderie saleyards up for lease
A new operator is being sought to run the Jerilderie Saleyards, to “ensure the continued operation of the site as a working saleyard”.
Murrumbidgee Council is calling for expressions of interest from parties interested in leasing the facility on Saleyards Rd.
Under the proposed lease, the successful applicant will secure a 20-year lease at a nominal rate of $1 per year.
A key requirement is that the lessee commits to upgrading the saleyards to modern standards within the first five years of the lease and maintains the facility for the full 20-year term.
If no suitable interest is received, the council will review future options for the site, which may include decommissioning the existing infrastructure.
Expressions of interest must be submitted by 5pm on Friday, June 27. For further information, contact the general manager at Murrumbidgee Council.
