Echuca young gun Noah Long has proven he has a bright future ahead of him after playing a starring role as Victoria won the under 15 footy national championships.
The St Joseph’s student was named among the Big V’s best in every game including a best on ground display in the gold medal game against South Australia, which the side won by 25 points.
Long’s performances certainly didn’t go unnoticed after he was named as an All Australian following the conclusion of the competition, alongside five of his teammates.
His best performance of the tournament arguably came against the Northern Territory when Long kicked three goals, on his way to being awarded the three votes for best on ground by the umpires.
Long finished the carnival with five goals as he continued to prove his ability to hit the scoreboard.
The Murray Bomber also featured in the Shepparton District Junior Football League under 15 interleague team earlier this year.
He also finished fifth in the SDJFL under 16 division one league best and fairest with nine votes.
It has always been Jeremy Walker’s dream to represent his country.
Now, not only is he able to tell people he has worn the green and gold on the international stage, but that he was one of the best his nation has to offer.
Walker has claimed the nomination for the month of August after his success in his triathlon in Switzerland.
Walker qualified to represent his nation after three successful events in Australia in the past 12 months, earning him enough points to make team Australia for the world event.
Competing against 123 others in his 40-44 age category, walker finished his event in 1.07:37, the second fastest of all Australian competitors, and the 16th fastest of all competitors in the event.
It adds to a series of successes in local and national triathlon events in past seasons.
