After a chaotic pre-season and five wins into the year, the Blues looked to make a big impact on the 2019 season.
Now, after knocking off the team who held them out of the top four Mulwala, the Blues are in a preliminary final, taking on Numurkah on Sunday to earn a spot in the Murray FL grand final.
Tongala coach Jordan Souter told the Riv earlier this week the preliminary appearances of multiple sides from the club was huge for the supporter base.
"It's something really big for our club," he said.
"It means we have supporters who are making the journey up to see the whole club, not just one or two sides. We have a strong fan base and a lot of supporters who are making the journey to show their support, and we really appreciate that."
After wins against Tungamah and Mulwala, the Blues enter Sunday's clash in fantastic form.
Tonny have been one of the form sides in the competition, having dropped just three of their past 13 games, but they come up against the other Blues of the competition,
The last time the sides met in round two, Tongala fell by 42 points, but the result gave Souter a lot to work on for their next contest.
"They're a really good side on the spread," he said.
"When we met them in the early stages of the season, and they cut us to bits in the way they moved the ball. It's a fantastic skill for a side to have, and it is something we are going to have to work really hard to match them.
"There are a few things we are going to have to get right. We need to maintain a high level with our contested ball if we are going to nullify their spread to an extent. We will have to match their keys and be able to take them out of the game.
"We have a lot of confidence in our style of football, it's worked well for us throughout the season, so we just have to back ourselves in, make a few adjustments to their game and produce our best football."
