Members are requested to keep an eye on the blackboard rosters to ensure you don’t miss your shift in the upcoming events.
Last Saturday’s weekend pennant did not go well with only one team being successful.

Division two hosted Moama and went down by 14 shots despite sharing the rinks.
Best rink again went to the team of Norm Hodge (s), John Brown, Bill Toll and Col Berryman (3).
Steve McCartney (s), Ian Whiting, Eddie Blampied and Bill Cook played an 18-all draw.

Division four hosted Ky Valley View and despite being well ahead on the ladder won only one rink and went down by two shots.
The only winners were Gayle Kerr (s), Daryl LaVelle, Bluey Charman and Kevin McAsey who led comfortably by 15 shots after 11 ends, but were out scored over the last 10 ends to win by nine shots.

In second place was John van den Bosch, Graeme Wood, Marcus DiAngri (s)with two wins 10 shots.

The latest round of CVBD Pennant did not offer any success as both division three and four lost their respective matches to Rich River and Moama.
Division three went down by three shots in a thriller at Rich River.
One shot separated the teams on the final end before the John Stuart (Rich River) rink picked up two shots to win the match 60-57.
With this loss the division three has dropped a rung to fourth position on the ladder with two rounds to be completed - (Russell Shawcross lost to J Stuart 15-19; Ray Hanson l.t. A Linquist 24-25; Ian Johnson d. V Woods 18-16).
Across at Moama the division four teams lost the battle with just one rink in front at the end of the day, losing 56-77 - (Kalvin Stout l.t. W Wadge 17-30; Frank Chugg l.t. B Barbary 12-25; Ken Main d. K Connolly 27-22 after trailing 2-16 after 10 ends.).
Division four occupies fourth position on the premiership ladder.
There were small numbers at the Friday evening barbecue due to the inclement weather that also hampered the intra-club pennant with only five ends played.
The missing number in the lucky members draw was Margaret Dowie.
On Sunday the club will hold the popular Cunnington Cup 2x4x2 Mixed Pairs tournament.
We have a capacity field and the bowlers should be satisfied with the excellent greens and afternoon tea.
Bowls will start at 1pm.

The CVBD Champion of Champions event was held at the City of Echuca Bowls Club on Sunday.
Our club champions Russell Shawcross and Leanne McInnes were defeated in the first round.
McInnes lost an enthralling encounter against Anne Williams (Elmore) 22-25 after scores were level at 22-all before Williams closed out the game and moved through to the semi-final.
Shawcross lost to a determined Dick Feulk (Rochester) 5-25 in an exhibition from Feuk that nearly defied logic at times.
Shawcross tried valiantly to stay in the contest but his opponent fought off any challenges with some uncanny shot-making to gain a semi-final berth.
In the women's event, Rose Wheeler (Rich River) d. Jane McCalman (Rochester), Marrilyn Stephenson (Moama) d. Pam Lewis (Mathoura), Di Payne (City of Echuca) d. Chris Taylor (Deniliquin RSL).
The semi-final results were - Williams d. Wheeler and Stephenson d. Payne.
On the men's side Craig Taylor (Deniliquin RSL) d. Keith Brooks (Elmore), Matt Liverton (City of Echuca) d. Jamie Shields (Deniliquin).
Quarter-finals: Liverton l.t. Michael Walker (Moama), Peter Nesbitt (Rich River) d. C Taylor, Peter Tinning (Tongala) d. Mark Qour (Matrhoura), Richard Feuk d. R Shawcross.
The semi-finals produced some exciting bowls with Dick Feuk defeating Michael Walker 25-23 and Peter Nesbitt defeating Peter Tinning 25-21.
Congratulations to the City of Echuca Bowls Club for the hospitality and fine greens and service. To the markers of all games it was a remarkable effort.
All finalists will play in the champions day at Moama Bowling Club on Sunday, February 14.

After a week's break, the midweek CVBD Pennant season round robin draw has been set.
It has been split into two divisions, for the next three Fridays beginning February 5, with games being played at different venues.
Another good outcome for our weekend CVBD Pennant teams with three of the four divisions winning their games, which now places all our teams in a good position to contest the upcoming finals.
Congratulations to Peter Nesbitt who has won through to the men's CVBD Champion of Champions event to be contested on Sunday, February 14 at Moama Bowling Club.
Well done to Rose Wheeler who won through to the ladies CVBD Champion on Champions semi-final and after winning her first game was narrowly beaten and unable to progress to the final.
Well done to Keith Hewitt who, as a team skipper in the recent Tongala tournament, managed to take out the major prize on the day.
Please remember to promote our Norm Knopp Tournament, to be played on Thursday, February 25, as you move around the various clubs competing in the many other club events being held during the next few weeks.
All our club bowlers need to keep in mind the members general meeting that will be held on Tuesday, February 16 at 2pm in the Tataila Room Number 1.
Once again a good turn up of bowlers for Jackpot Pairs held on Wednesday, January 27 where six teams managed to win two games each.
Bruce O'Neale and Leon Sharp - 58 points/27 shots up.
John James and Paul Wallace - 56 points/19 shots up.
Roy Berryman and Gerry Devlin - 54 points/12 shots up.
Repecharge
Ron Ritchie and Warwick Stiles - plus 16 shots.
