The gallery’s curating team is on the lookout for a ‘diverse range of exhibitions’ and is welcoming artists who specialise in different art styles and genres to apply.
Member of the Foundry curating team Kerry Williams said the curators were open to all kinds of submissions.
“Each year we do the same thing and try to get the word out as far and as wide as possible,” she said.
“Hopefully, we get a lot more applicants from different places so that gives us a bit to pick and choose from.
“We’re open to all sorts of options, materials and the many different ways that people like to express themselves. We’ll happily look at it all.”
While the program will provide Echuca residents and guests with fresh events to look forward to, it is also an opportunity for budding artists to see their works in an exhibition.
It also opens up the floor to unique artists who run workshops alongside their exhibitions, such as renowned artist Deborah Halpern who ran four workshops last year.
Ms Williams said they hoped local artists would be able to find inspiration from these workshops and exhibitions.
“A big part of it is that we want to be able to bring somebody in that can then run workshops to extend the skills of local artists,” she said.
“We want to inspire local artists. We want them to strive to do bigger and better things, and we feel like bringing people from outside can help do that.”
If artists are not comfortable exhibiting alone, they can gather a group and exhibit as a group or let the curators know so that they can match up artists to suitable exhibiting partners.
Once the submissions close, the Foundry will form a selection committee which will include a non-local member to ensure fairness in the selection process.
Submissions will open on Tuesday, July 1 and will close on Tuesday, September 30.
