From October 16 to 18, Echuca-Moama will welcome some of Australia’s leading writers, musicians and performers — and the organisers can’t wait for you to join them.
The festival will be filled with talks, readings, live music, workshops and shared experiences around town.
“Stories can be told in so many ways: through song, art, the written word, podcasts and performance,” Festival of Stories president Christy O’Brien said.
“We encourage both locals and visitors to spend the weekend soaking up stories.
“There will be long literary lunches under vines, live music after dark, country wisdom shared over scones and tea, art and comedy, lively conversations and creative workshops you won’t find anywhere else.
“From author conversations and performances to art and guided nature walks, this is a festival to enjoy with friends, at your own pace.
“You can bring your book club or bring a friend.”
Echuca-Moama, on Yorta Yorta Country, is a landscape shaped by connection, where three rivers meet and, for thousands of years, people have gathered to share knowledge, traditions and stories.
That enduring spirit of locals and travellers finding common ground through storytelling continues in the inaugural Festival of Stories.
The premise of this new event on the Echuca-Moama calendar is that everyone has a story to share, and the uniqueness of this gathering lies in the way it will bring people together.
