The scheme involves people collecting cans, drinks and other returnable items and receiving 10c back for each.
The residents then have four refund options: they can collect a voucher to spend at participating stores, receive cash, opt to donate their refund to a charity or community organisation or receive an electronic payment through an app.
Location, location: The new container deposit site is at 29 Hume St, Echuca.

Located at 29 Hume St and open Monday to Saturday between 8am and 4pm, the new container deposit spot has already been a hit with locals.
Jamie Ryan, who has already been to drop off cans and bottles a couple of times, said it was great to have another location.
Refund: For every eligible item returned you get a 10c refund.

If people want to get involved but are still determining if they have items that can be returned, the easiest way to check if your container is eligible is to look for the 10c symbol.
In Victoria, most aluminium, glass, plastic, steel and liquid paperboard drink containers holding between 150ml and 3 litres are eligible for a refund.
