After the fire, Echuca Fire Brigade thanked everyone who assisted in containing the fire and alerting neighbours before they had arrived.
“We appreciate the assistance, the kind words, we appreciate our employers allowing us to leave to attend fires and mostly, we appreciate our families allowing us to run off from them time after time.”
District 20 commander Paul Elso said despite local units fighting major bushfires across the state, smart resource planning ensured Echuca received the full response this serious house fire demanded.
“We had a fully involved house fire in Echuca, and we had a whole heap of resources deployed to that that aren’t normally in Echuca because of those movements,” he said.
