After the closure of Campaspe College of Adult Education, Shirley Harris and her class were left with nowhere to hold their weekly classes.
However, unperturbed by the closure, they have found a new venue and are inviting the public along to a ‘come and try’ session on Tuesday.
‘‘Campaspe College had been providing Tai Chi courses for decades and it will be very sorely missed,’’ Shirley said.
‘‘My group didn’t want the classes to end so together we found the availability of Apex Hall.’’
The role of tutor found Shirley after she began learning in 1995 under master David Vannen, he then left the area in 1997 and Nan and Don McFadden took over the practice group.
‘‘When they planned to retire in 2001 I completed the teaching course to become accredited,’’ Shirley said.
The come and try session will be at the Apex Hall in Echuca from 3-4pm.
Anyone who is interested can attend, and, to cover the cost of hall hire, a paid 10-week program will begin the following week for anyone looking to join.
