Year 9 student Paige Riedell was accepted into the Ellenburg Symphonic Band, joining other advanced wind, brass and percussion players.
Paige will be exploring challenging repertoire designed to extend her ensemble and performance skills.
Year 11 student Jessie Ashcroft has earned a place in the symphonic orchestra, which will be led by award-winning conductor Jessica Gethin.
Cobram Secondary College community engagement officer Anne-Marie Hindle said Jessie wanted to be a professional flautist and was really excited to be working with the acclaimed musician.
“She’s really excited to be working with her, so that has been on Jessie’s bucket list,” Ms Hindle said.
Ms Hindle said the girls were very passionate about music, and staff at the school were proud because they knew how hard they worked.
“We're all very proud of what they're achieving with their own determination as well as the parents that support them in doing these different programmes outside school,” she said.
Ms Hindle said their music teachers needed to be commended for all their hard work as well.
“They're the ones that have been working with the students for a few years now ... they also tell them what’s available out there,” she said.
The prestigious summer school program gathers the most talented musicians from across the country, giving them an opportunity to learn, perform and grow under the guidance of Australia’s finest music educators.
It appears these young Cobram musicians are already achieving fame, with their talents becoming sought after by the wider community.
“They are in the school band and now we put it out on social media and they've been asked to play at the local carol service,” Ms Hindle said.
“There's people that are amazed by their talent and now they're in a bit of a demand, which is great.”
