Under a canopy of lights the eight debutantes and their partners looked beautiful as they gracefully cruised around the dance floor.
Dancing to the songs Black Coffee, The Way You Make Me Feel, and I’ve Had the Time of My Life, the group looked amazing as they danced in front of more than 250 family and friends.
The ball is held in partnership with Cohuna Neighbourhood House and Cohuna Secondary College, and is put together by a small group of volunteers.
After 10 years, this group has decided to hand over the batten to the next budding debutante organisers.
Cathy Donehue, Sharon Payne, Mandy Frisby and Sallie Hawken feel now is the right time for some fresh enthusiasm.
“It is such an important event for the young people of our community, and we have enjoyed watching each group over the years, however, we also know that it's time for some fresh eyes,” Ms Hawken said.
“We know the event will continue and are sure that the new committee will be amazing.”
The ladies thanked everyone for their support and particularly thanked the young people for their involvement.
“Finishing with this small group has been simply lovely,” Ms Hawken said.
“They are such a beautiful group of young people, and it has been a pleasure spending time with them every week.”
