Streets heading north-south in Echuca were heavily congested for about two hours as drivers were funnelled across the one lane left open on the bridge.
North of the border it was a similar story with traffic backing up along the Cobb Hwy to Perricoota Rd.
Two people were taken to Echuca Regional Health in a stable condition both with minor injuries and one with upper-body injuries.

It is believed the occupants of the vehicles are being treated for minor injuries after the airbags of one vehicle deployed.
Motorists are advised to avoid travelling across the bridge if at all possible to ease congestion.
Emergency services are working to open the road with two cars towed at this stage.
Traffic is moving slowly.

A three-car collision on the Echuca-Moama bridge is causing delays.
Emergency services were called to the crash at 4.45pm.
Traffic has been reduced to a crawl on the Moama-bound lane.
