HUNDREDS of Aboriginal men, women and children gathered at Barmah on Monday to commemorate 80 years to the day since the Cummeragunja walk-off.

On that day, more than 200 Aboriginals stood up to decades of abuse at the hands of a cruel station master and oppression at the hands of a racist system and crossed the Murray to Barmah to say enough.
On Monday hundreds retraced the steps of their families, but in reverse, marching from Barmah over the bridge to Cummeragunja to symbolise taking back the country.
