Congratulations to our greenskeeper Jade Bennett and greens director Col Berryman for the magnificent greens presented on the day and well done to all our great volunteers who worked so hard prior to, during and after the event.
Commiserations to the division three team, but well done on your efforts to get to the big dance.

Lockington
It was another big week in bowls at Lockington. The women held their President's Day on Tuesday, before the Barefoot Bowls was held that evening. Then the Ladies Medley Fours tournament was held on Friday before culminating in the CVBD pennant grand finals on Saturday.
The only missing chapter was the cancellation of the annual Waterwheel Classic Fours on Sunday due to torrential rain that fell on Saturday night.
A 7.30am inspection of the greens on Sunday morning ruled the day out. This event will be rescheduled for a later date. Keep an eye on this space.
On Saturday the moment that we all play for happened when our division four pennant teams fought out the grand final against Rich River at the picturesque City of Echuca Bowling Club.
With perfect weather on the day, all teams went into battle with Lockington taking the early advantage to open a 43-18 break after 23 ends.
Rich River tried desperately to bridge the gap, however our three skippers were equal to the task.
The final score was Lockington 75 to Rich River 54 for a comfortable 21-shot victory which enabled the team to bring home the Gordon Porch division four premiership shield.
Rink results: D. Isgro, G. Hyden, D. Thomas, K. Main (s) def. G. Edgar 21-14; L. Laffy, P. Collins, N. Haines, F. Chugg (s) d. R. Ritchie 27-22; L. Brereton, O. McPhee, T. Davis, K. Stout (s) def. K Robertson 27-18.

Lockington Bowls Club members were saddened to learn of the passing of Alys Humbert who was a long standing stalwart of the club and contributed an enormous amount of time and effort in the running of the club.
Alys was club champion in 1967/68 and associate president for the 1985/86 and 1986/1987 seasons plus served in almost every other committee position.
Alys Humbert was also instrumental in the operation of the former CVLBA (Campaspe Valley Ladies Bowling Association) to which a life membership was bestowed after many years of service.

Despite the results on Saturday, where all three of our teams in the CVBD Weekend Pennant grand finals fell short of victory, we can be proud of our bowlers in reaching three of the four divisions in which we participated in during the 2020/21 season.
It is an outstanding achievement for our club and is the best outcome we have managed for quite a number of years. It is something we can build on for the coming 2021/22 season which we will now turn our attention to.
A big thank you to all our club supporters who came along to Echuca Bowling Club to offer their encouragement to our bowlers on the day. It was a great turnout and much appreciated.
The club is super proud of the Ladies Midweek CVBD Pennant division two team taking out the premiership for the 2020/21 season and bringing success to our club.
It was a much deserved victory indeed in what was a most challenging year of uncertainty.
A number of club event games are still to be played and we ask all those still participating to arrange for these to be completed at their very earliest opportunity please.
All these finals need to be completed by Sunday, April 18 at the latest.
Entry forms for the mixed pairs is on the noticeboard so those intending to play must enter their details before Thursday, March 25 for a draw to be arranged.
Well done to Phil Stiles, Roseanne Sharp and Anne Kosch on their win at the Elmore Triples on Wednesday, as well as to Pam Hayes, Toni Beck, Stephanie Shine and Rita Moresco for their win at the Lockington Tournament on Friday.
