For the first time in its long history, the Deniliquin Easter Art Show has been extended beyond Easter.
They can be viewed at the Deniliquin Multi Arts Centre in Cressy St until May 17.
This year’s exhibition features 362 entries from 117 separate artists, with more than half coming from the local area.
Others come from Victoria and other parts of NSW, with work also entered by one Queensland-based artist.
There are also 11 youth artists exhibited; a trend that has been growing since the introduction of the Youth Award in 2023 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the art show.
While not open on Mother’s Day itself, there are other chances to view the exhibition leading up to and over the Mother’s Day weekend.
The gallery is open 10am to 3pm on Wednesdays, Thursday and Fridays, and 9am to 2pm Saturdays. Entry is $5.
The other must see exhibition in Deniliquin is The Stories of Fashion at the Peppin Heritage Centre, curated by Jane Frazer.
At least 20 fashion pieces and accessories are featured, along with the stories behind them.
About 70 per cent of the fashion items on display will be from the World War II era, with key pieces including a ‘Gown of the Year’ winner from the 1950s and an outfit made by a designer who created dressed for Princess Diana.
The Stories of Fashion can be viewed daily until June 15.
The Peppin Heritage Centre Gallery in George St, Deniliquin is open from 9am to 4pm Monday to Saturday, and 9am to 2pm Sundays. An entry fee of $3 applies.
The Stories Through Fashion exhibition will open daily until June 15.
