Dog owners in Echuca, Kyabram and Tongala will need to find alternative exercise arrangements for their pets as community dog parks undergo essential maintenance works from late November through mid-February.
The Echuca East recreation precinct will be first to close, during the week beginning November 24.
Contractors will top-dress the western dog park and central large dog areas, requiring closure for two to three weeks to ensure optimal grass growth and coverage.
Once these sections reopen, the eastern dog park will close for similar works.
The Kyabram Dog Park will close for about three weeks from January 19 for scheduled irrigation works.
Following completion of the Kyabram project, crews will move to the Tongala Dog Park, which will then close for a similar duration.
Both Kyabram and Tongala facilities will be completely closed to the public during their respective maintenance periods.
The closures come two months after the opening of the Tongala and Kyabram dog parks.
A Campaspe Shire Council representative said the scheduled works aimed to ensure ongoing amenity and quality of the dog parks for future community use.
Council thanked residents for their patience and understanding during these enhancements.
