TWO Echuca women are set to host regional Victoria’s most prestigious theatre awards next year.

Britney Evans and Ivy Jensen have been selected to present the 46th Georgy Awards in Mooroopna in February.
Britney and Ivy have been involved in several Echuca-Moama Theatre Company productions together, including Chitty Chitty Bang Bang in 2015 and Spamalot in 2017, but this year they shared the spotlight with lead roles as the mother-daughter duo, Morticia and Wednesday, in The Addams Family.
Involved in 10 EMTC shows since 2012, multiple school productions, 19-year-old Britney has received two Georgy Award nominations for her roles as Ursula in EMTC’s The Little Mermaid Jr and Mary-Lou in St Joseph’s College production of The Great Divide.
The Long Tan Youth Leadership and Teamwork Award recipient and Kwong Lee Dow Melbourne University young scholar intends to study film at university in Melbourne in the near future.
As the Riverine Herald's senior writer, Ivy launched back into theatre four years ago after a 10-year hiatus.
After joining EMTC in 2015, she has been in every senior EMTC show and was recently appointed assistant director of the The Jungle Book Jr, which takes to the stage in November.
Georgy Awards committee president Joyce Baker-Dawber said the committee was delighted to have the dynamic duo hosting the ceremony, along with Megan Scott as the special guest artist.
"The 46th Annual Georgy Awards is proud to be recognising 31 categories across the breadth of community theatre in our region which spans from Echuca-Moama in the west, south to Mansfield and across to Albury-Wodonga in the north east,” she said.
The Georgy's will be held at Riverlinks WestSide on February 8, 2020.
