Darren Burr moved to equal leader of the captain’s trophy with his second place finish behind Brian Suffolk in Thursday's stroke event.
Young gun Ian Young beat Glen Turner in a countback for B grade and Barry McPherson did likewise to Dave Edgar in C grade.
Jeff Ridge was chuffed to win a big payout in the super-pin.

Saturday, July 30
Pro Ben Patten provided the highlight of the Doug Riley 4BBB Par event when he aced the 19th hole.
The McCoomb’s had the Doug Riley all sown up with Tyson practically practising his speech, until Geoff Connally and Josh Pell made a late charge to claim the trophy.
Xavier Clark may well give his old man a sling for using his cart after winning the super-pin.
A grade: 1st Geoff Connally & Josh Pell (+10); 2nd Steve McCoomb and Tyson McCoomb (10); 3rd Ben Patten and Angus Baldwin ( 8).
Liz McKinlay and Maxine Aitken had a great score to win the Ladies 4BBB Par event with Carol Eddy and Glenys Smith hot on their heels. Karen Fitzgerald again fired up on the super-pin hole to claim the prize.

Sunday, August 1
A total of 77 players competed in the medley stableford round on the West course in two divisions, with the best score of the day going to Curtis Townrow with 38 points.
A grade: 1st Curtis Townrow (38); 2nd Simon Putna (37); 3rd Jarrod Smith (36).
B grade: 1st Harry Shirley (37); 2nd Adam Brady (36); 3rd Sharna Chapman (34).
Monday, August 2
Top scores of 19 points in Monday's nine-hole stableford went to Christine Ross in A grade and Judy McGillivray in B.
Nearest the pins went to Chris Kelly in A grade and Jan Annakis in B.
A grade: 1st Christine Ross (19); 2nd Lorraine Brough (18); 3rd Ann McPherson (17).
B grade: 1st Judy McGillivray (19); 2nd Vicki Riddington (18); 3rd Jan Annakis (16).
18-hole medley: The overall 18-hole winner was Barb Sands with 34 stableford points on a countback to Axyl Lewis in second place (34) followed by Marilyn Robins in third (33).
Tuesday, August 3
Trainee pro Cooper Gentle had the score of the day to win A grade and showed many why he is a pro. Craig Opie was not far behind and Brian O’Neill would have relished the rain and subsequent extra length of the course.
Bill Holmfield was too good for the B grade field and the consistent Garry Jeffery took out C grade. Matt Jean had an eagle on six west and John Clancy won the super-pin.

Wednesday, August 4
Despite new restrictions keeping Rich River's Victorian members out of the clubhouse there were 103 players out on the East course for the stableford round. Chris Kelly emerged the winner of A grade, taking her to the top of the Women's Captain's Trophy leaderboard with 10 points, two points clear with seven rounds to go.
Dianne McMinn had a magnificent 43 points to take the win in C grade.
Nearest the pins on the third were Carol Eddy (A grade), Chris Kelly (B) and Gillian Crawford (C), while on the 16th Di Paterson (A), Felicity Douglas (B) and Suzan Hutton (C) were closest.
Liz Easther's points were boosted by her winning the super-pin.
A grade: 1st Chris Kelly (37); 2nd Glenys Smith (36 c/b); 3rd Josie Kirkman (36).
B grade: 1st Joyce Moresi (36); 2nd Maxine Aitken (35); 3rd Lorraine Bowman (32).

Lockington
Golfers were really pleased to be back playing competition golf at Lockington, even if some might have been a bit rusty after the COVID-19 lockdown.
Brett Stone was in top form with 73-3-70 to win the Giddings Co Player of the Day voucher, monthly medal and A grade honours.
Grant Humbert (74-3-71) was runner-up in A grade, just in front of James Hodgens (82-10-72).
Jeff Carnie (90-16-74) won B grade, while Tom Scurrah (95-24-71) won C grade on a countback from Jai Milligan (104-33-71).
Yardstick balls (next best scores, all grades) were claimed by JD Wright (72), Jason Wakefield (74) and Gary Milligan, Terry Thomas and Barry Graham (75).
Nearest the pins went to Grant Humbert (seventh; A grade second shot 12th; second shot 18th for the six-pack smack) and Tom Scurrah (C grade second shot 12th).
Spike’s longest drives on the first, sponsored by Hot ‘n’ Cold Plumbing, went to James Hodgens (A grade), Ray Brereton (B) and Tom Scurrah (C).
Neither the Echuca CIH eagles nest on the third nor Captain Bricka’s yardstick on the 16th was won.
Gartside Cup qualifiers include Tom Scurrah, Jai Milligan and JD Wright with Jason Wakefield on standby.
The best scratch scores were Brett Stone (A grade: 73); Jeff Carnie (B: 90); Tom Scurrah (C: 95 on countback from JD Wright).
Two more Handicap Matchplay quarter-finals have been decided. Terry Thomas snatched victory from the jaws of defeat by winning the 18th to defeat Jeff Carnie 1-up, while Brett Stone accounted for Ron Dixon 8 and 7.
The ladies had a hit last Wednesday with Helen Hayes best on course to win the Giddings Co Player of the Day voucher on a countback from Pauline Humbert. Hayes also won the best nine on the card event.

Bamawm
What a great day Sunday was to open up the course again after the COVID-19 lockdown with a small field competing in a stableford round.
Winner on 36 points was Alex MacQuibban with Russell Tatt runner-up on 31 points.
Nearest the pins went to Graham Turner (4/13 second) and Owen McPhee (7/16), while the longest drive went to Russell Tatt.
It was great to welcome the LBU Football Netball Club who had a fun day competing in a three-person ambrose. The club would like to thank them for their support and look forward to welcoming them back in the future.
Elmore
Great weather greeted golfers at Elmore on Sunday, but overnight rain made the course difficult for good scores.
Only a few really got going and in A grade it was Mac Whittle with a super 79-7-72 to win ahead of Mitch Whittle with 86-10-76 on a countback from Luke Price on 91-15-76.
In B grade Tom Carboon mastered the conditions with 97-24-73 from Dan Dockery on 100-26-74. Nearest the pins were taken out by Nick Gibbs on the 10th, Harry Grogan won the snags on the sixth and the cash on the day, while Mitch Whittle was closest on the fourth.
Thanks goes to Grogan’s Machinery for their generous sponsorship of trophies for the day.
In the championships standings, it is going to be an interesting final round this Sunday. With Mac Whittle having 86-79-165, he is only a triple bogey from his twin brother Mitch on 82-86-168 and brother Harry on 83-87-170 along with Sam McLeod on 87-85-172.
In B grade Ben Duncan is playing good golf to have 91-92-183 and leads Lachie Brooks on 91-97-188 and Harry Grogan on 92-100-192.
