Come along to Echuca library on Saturday to discover all the twin towns have to offer.
Campaspe Shire Mayor Daniel Mackrell said the day remained an important way for people to build connections.
“Discovery Day brings together so many parts of our community in one place,” Cr Mackrell said.
“It’s a relaxed and welcoming way for people to discover what’s happening locally, meet the groups behind the activities and find new opportunities to get involved.
“This event helps strengthen our community by encouraging participation, volunteering and social connection, and everyone is invited.”
More than 50 organisations, community groups, sporting clubs and service groups are expected to take part, offering locals, particularly newcomers, retirees and anyone wanting to become more involved, a chance to learn what’s available across the Echuca-Moama area.
Displays will be set up inside the library and on the front lawn, giving visitors plenty of space to wander, chat informally with group representatives and pick up information about programs, activities, events and volunteering opportunities.
A wide variety of free activities will run throughout the day, ensuring there’s something for everyone.
Visitors can enjoy a live broadcast by EMFM Radio from 10am to 1pm, soak up the community atmosphere over a free barbecue provided by Echuca Lions Club, and grab a complimentary tea or coffee.
This year also brings fresh faces to the event, with several new groups joining for the first time, including Flip Faktor Tumbling, Festival of Stories Incorporated, ABC Friends Goulburn Valley and more.
The Skills and Jobs Centre Bendigo TAFE will return with the Skills and Jobs Bus, offering free career advice on site.
A broad range of council services will also be represented, including the waste and environment team, customer service and flood recovery, giving the community easy access to information and support.
Echuca-Moama Discovery Day is at 310 Hare St from 10am to 1pm on Saturday, March 14.
