The dedicated member previously served as vice-president and is known for her friendly nature and commitment to fostering connections among members.
Ms Ormando explained her motivation for joining Probus and taking on the presidency in 2026.
“I’d sort of semi-retired, so I needed something that was a bit of a challenge when I joined,” she said.
“I was vice-president last year and watched what was going on with the previous president and what the other presidents have done.
“So I thought, well, hey, I can do this.”
The club offers diverse activities for its members, from regular social gatherings to organised trips.
“We have lunch or dinner outings,” Ms Ormando said.
“We have cards, we have indoor bowls that one of the members has been doing for the last 25 years.”
Upcoming events include a visit to the Leitchville Hotel this month and an overnight trip to Tullakool and Moulamein in April.
“The overnight trip is like an extension of the silo art trail,” Ms Ormando said.
“We get to spend a bit of time and a bit of money in the smaller towns.”
The club also features regular card games.
“'There is a group that plays Crazy Whist once a month,” Ms Ormando said.
“You don't have to have any experience and everybody brings a plate and then all together we have afternoon tea and chat.”
Meetings are held at the Echuca Workers Club on the first Monday of each month at 10am.
“You come as a guest for the first three meetings, then you join,” Ms Ormando said.
“It is a great way to spend social time, if you have lost a partner or are living on your own, just retired.”
Members have thanked outgoing president Trevor Rickard for his outstanding service over the past twelve months.
The club looks forward to a successful and enjoyable year ahead under Ms Ormando’s guidance, with continued growth, shared experiences and the strong sense of community that makes Echuca-Moama Twin Rivers Probus Club so special.
