Organised by locals Patrick Casey and Danielle Hayes, the ‘We Are One’ service will give residents an opportunity to honour the lives lost.
Moved by the tragedy, Mr Casey and Ms Hayes reached out to the community through the Echuca Moama Community Facebook page to rally support.
The response was overwhelming, with numerous community members offering to help.
Mr Casey said the service aimed to bring the community together during a difficult time for all Australians.
“We felt helpless, and we feel that a lot of people felt the same, and we feel this is a way that we can all come together,” he said.
“We’re all grieving over what happened; even though we don't know those people, it's so wrong.
“We just want people to come together and think no, the world is not full of hate, the world is full of love, and it’s a very small minority that have this kind of hatred.”
The mass shooting, which happened on Sunday, December 14, was a targeted attack on the Jewish community, who were celebrating the Jewish holiday of Hannukah at Sydney’s Bondi Beach.
Fifteen people lost their lives during the attack and around 40 people suffered injuries.
One gunman died at the scene, while another gunman was charged on Wednesday, December 15, with 59 offences including murder and terrorism.
In the wake of the shootings, communities around the country have come together to mourn and show solidarity, with Echuca-Moama residents to show their support this weekend.
Mr Casey said the event was a safe space for all people and asked that any flags of any nation or any other patriotic items be left at home.
“This is not about religion. It’s not about politics. No flags, no banners — just people coming together,” he said.
“(It’s) about humankind and kindness to one another and love to one another.
“Stand there and introduce yourself to the person next to you if you don’t know them and link arms when we sing those three songs, be united as one and let’s heal.”
The ‘We Are One’ service will be held on Sunday, December 21 at the Moama Soundshell from 4pm.
At 4.30pm, there will be a moment of silence, followed by three iconic Australian songs for attendees to sing together.
Guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs and picnic rugs and a bottle of water.
