Organiser Tracy Luscombe said about 150 brides plus their families and friends attended this year’s event on Sunday.
‘‘Last year we had more than 200,’’ she said.
‘‘When we went to the Melbourne Wedding Expo earlier this year we also found there weren’t as many stalls and people either.
‘‘We think it’s to do with the internet presence and people looking at stuff online.
‘‘The whole wedding industry is different because of the internet and a lot of trends are online now.’’
Despite this, Ms Luscombe said the event ran smoothly.
‘‘All the brides there were serious and a lot of bookings were made on the day,’’ she said.
‘‘A few venues had a lot of bookings and I had two bookings in the first half hour (for my cakes) which has never happened before.’’
Ms Luscombe said a public meeting would be held in the next six weeks to discuss next year’s event.
‘‘We invite all interested businesses to attend to give input and see if we can revamp it,’’ she said.
Flight Centre’s major prize, which includes a holiday in Los Angeles, was won by Lauren Knuckey.
‘‘She was so lovely and surprised, she was in tears,’’ Ms Luscombe said.
‘‘It makes us so happy to see such a deserving and thankful person win such an amazing prize.’’
