The team won the achievement at the recent Toyota President’s Awards, where dealer principal John Merritt also accepted the Victorian Rural Dealer of the Year award.
Mr Merritt said to receive the award for the third time in a row was a testament to the entire team.
“It means that each of our departments have succeeded, and that’s probably, from my perspective, the thing to be most proud of, the performance of our staff,” he said.
“We’re very fortunate to have the support of the community that we do, and the job that the team do.”
Ensuring staff are valued is an important part of the dealership’s culture and a priority for Mr Merritt.
“That’s something I hold close to my heart because I know that if I value people, and we look after people, that they look after our customers,” he said.
“Both of those are the most important things we’ve got.”
On top of the President’s and Rural Dealer awards, the team took home extra accolades in people and culture categories.
The dealership won silver in service excellence — the only one in Victoria — as well as silver in marketing and customer experience excellence.
Bronze was awarded for business management excellence, sales excellence and people and culture excellence.
To top it all off, the team won the Toyota Knight award for being the number one passenger and commercial dealership in a set area.
The Southern Region Rural Dealer of the Year award is only given to one team in Victoria and Tasmania annually, which Mr Merritt said made the honour more noteworthy.
“We feel fortunate to win it once, and we feel extra special to win it those three times in a row,” he said.
