Echuca United signs former Moama player

ECHUCA United has continued its last-minute recruiting spree signing former Moama player Jacob Chapman.

The coming season appeared to be the furthest thing from Chapman’s mind after he established his own chiropractic clinic in Echuca.

But visits from Eagles players and officials in recent weeks, have managed to get him on United's side.

‘‘I actually had no intentions of playing this year after opening the business, but when things began to run ahead of schedule guys started to get in my ear,’’ Chapman said.

‘‘Guy Campbell came to see me and showed me all the structures and game plan they want to play.

‘‘It was all a really exciting proposition.’’

Chapman crosses the bridge to join a host of impressive recruits who have arrived at the Eagles’ nest.

‘‘They’ve recruited really well, the players they’ve brought in are really exciting,’’ he said.

‘‘Josh Mellington is a good player and kicks goals everywhere he goes and Andrew will certainly be a quality player when he does play.

‘‘Hopefully these guys bring valuable experience to the group and can help the club towards the success that we all want as players.’’

Although Chapman will not be involved as United travel to Deniliquin this weekend he could face his old side as early as Good Friday.
