A water trailer is available at the Elmore Water Treatment Plant, at the base of Elmore water tower. This is located on Elmore-Raywood Road. Bring a water container to fill for personal use.
Bottled water is also available at this location above. It is no longer being provided at BP Elmore.
Coliban Water staff are door knocking in the community today (Boxing Day) to ensure everyone is aware of this advice.
The cause of the issue was a fault with the alarm system which caused the Elmore Water Treatment Plant to stop running.
In addition, at the time of the fault, our region was receiving heavy rain and intense weather.
Water supply has since been restored, noting the do not drink advisory remains in place.
Coliban Water will be adding chlorine to the water supply in the short term, as it resume water production.
“We expect it will be several days before Elmore’s water network returns to normal, and before the ‘do not drink’ advisory can be lifted,” a Coliban Water spokesperson said.

EARLIER: Elmore residents have been advised the town’s tap water is not fit to drink.
Following consultation with the Department of Health, Coliban Water issued the warning at 1.30pm on Christmas Day.
The advice was issued following an issue at Coliban Water’s Elmore Water Treatment Plant earlier on December 25 which caused the town’s clear water storage tank to be drained and remains in place until further notice.
The plant is currently being restored, but it will take some time to return to normal operations.
Coliban Water said it would be adding chlorine to the water supply in the short term as it resumed water production.
While the ‘do not drink tap water’ advisory is in place, people are advised not to use the tap water for:
• drinking
• preparing beverages
• washing and preparing food
• preparing baby formula
• brushing teeth
• making ice.
