Seven to 14-year-olds tackled the swim, ride and run which started in the Murray River before following a bush course, competitors from Bendigo, Shepparton, Deniliquin, Wangaratta and Melbourne involved in the event.
For the Griffiths family, the multi-sport weekend was a busy one, beginning with the involvement of nine-year-old Esther Griffiths in Saturday morning’s triathlon.
Esther finished second in the 9-10 years female event behind Emily Wilkinson, with Kalene Brewster in third position.
It was Esther’s third triathlon event, having won her age division last year at the Echuca Moama event.
Her elder brother George, who is 12, finished runner-up in the 11-12 years male event. He was hot on the heels of winner Van Lowry, with Seb Walker finishing third, then Ben Henson and Oscar Weston.
Their mother, Karen, contested the twilight triathlon event on the Port of Echuca course on Saturday afternoon and finished the course in an hour and 14 minutes — the leader of the 40 to 44 years female division.
"I was third last year when I got a flat tyre,“ she said.

Fourteen-year-old Lenny also had a big weekend, involved in the team event at the twilight event and then backing that up with a third place in the open water swim event on Sunday.
He was among the leading swimmers in the junior male division for the wharf to winery event, which finished at Morrison’s Winery.

Female 7-8 years: Indi Walker 1, Alexandria Johnson-Cox 2, Aya Brewster 3, Emily Parker 4, Audrey Dobeli 5, Mia Kervin 6, Addison Milic 7, Kate Tyson 8. Male 9-10 years: Sam Henson 1, Taj Walker 2, Fletcher Davies 3, Jack McGrillen 4, Liam Carter 5, Arul Whiting 6, Sonny Salter 7, Joey Lowry 8. Female 11-12 years: Sophie Bauerle 1, Elka Connolly 2, Sophie Jardine 3, Jemma Carter 4. Male 13-14 years: Merlin Tzaros 1, Ky Henson 2, Lachlan Barlow 3, Ethan Connolly 4, Charlier Courts 5, Stirling Wakefield 6, Riley Wilkinson 7. Female 13-14 years: Emily Davies 1, Vegas Henry 2, Isabella Holmes-Tyson 3, Remi Baulch 4.
