Karen Druitt and Sarah Young are not new to teaching in Deniliquin, but they have joined a new school this year.

Both mainstays of the Edward Public School community, this year they have made the move to Mayrung Public School.
With the addition of such experienced teachers, Mayrung is urging parents to consider the ‘small school’ option available to them.
Mrs Druitt and Mrs Young both bring a wealth of experience in and passion for education.
“It's just been an absolutely lovely start to the year here at Mayrung,” Mrs Young said.
“I had spent 29 wonderful years at Edward, and I am just out here covering some maternity leave for another staff member for the year.
“We have 26 kids in total across the whole school, which is far lower than the schools around town.”
Mrs Druitt’s first task at Mayrung was to reinvigorate the schools' library space, setting it up for the students looking for a quiet space to read.
It’s already been quite popular since students returned to school on February 6 - a week ahead of most other local schools.
