The Community Connections Directory, developed by the Gannawarra Community Resilience Committee, aims to promote regular programs and activities in the region.
Activities listed in the directory are supported by the Cohuna Neighbourhood House, Northern District Community Health, and Gannawarra Library Service.
A range of community organisations also contribute, including playgroups, men’s sheds, and senior groups.
Council chief executive Geoff Rollinson said social connection was crucial for mental and physical health, belonging, reducing the risk of illness, and overall wellbeing.
“We are fortunate to have so many community groups and organisations willing to run regular programs,” he said.
“The Community Connections Directory highlights these opportunities for new and long-term residents to connect with others.”
Details regarding programs for children, families, seniors, community health services, transport options and wellbeing support can be found in the directory.
It can be accessed at the council’s customer service centres, library branches, and neighbourhood houses.
