Power supplies in the region were disrupted by fallen trees, including one at Henderson Rd, Tongala, leaving residents in the area to wake up on Thursday morning without electricity.
More than 700 customers in the Rochester area were also affected by a power outage.
It followed a wet and windy night with gusts up to 78km/h in Echuca and 5.2mm of rain.
Echuca SES controller Judi Cantwell said they had two callouts on Wednesday night, including for a fallen tree in Mitiamo, and more calls for fallen trees on Thursday morning.
“This area’s been fairly lucky, considering the callouts the SES have had during the night for help in other areas,” she said.
With strong winds continuing during the day, Ms Cantwell urged residents to be cautious.
“Prepare your property, especially securing any loose items such as trampolines that could fly around,” she said.
“Make sure your vehicle is clear of trees if they do come down and just be aware of the surroundings and how wet it is.”
There were 6530 requests for assistance to the SES across the state in the 24 hours to 2pm on Thursday, with 5076 for fallen trees, 787 for building damage and 185 for flood.
In a life-threatening situation, call triple zero, and in a non-life threatening situation call the SES on 13 25 00.
