Susan Goulding and her family have walked away with an extra $1000 to spend around town in what could only be described as a Christmas miracle.
Ms Goulding was named as the fourth and final winner of the Fun Festive Giveaway, which encouraged readers of the Riverine Herald to find the weekly code word deliberately hidden inside editions of the paper.
Four successful winners over four weeks were each awarded $1000 in vouchers to spend at local retail stores.
An avid reader of the Riverine Herald, Ms Goulding has read nearly every edition over the past 20 years.
And despite having entered in just about every competition over those 20 years, Ms Goulding said she was “left speechless” when she received the phone call telling her that she was the final winner.
“I won a holiday years and years ago but I haven’t won a competition in a very long time,” she said.
“It’s so amazing to win something like this at this time of the year.”
And with five sons of her own, she said the vouchers would take some of the pressure off of Christmas shopping.
“I just want to say a huge thank you to The Riv and all the local shops that have gotten involved,” Ms Goulding said.
