I have heard some Christians say “I don’t want to believe in Jesus Christ any more, because the more I become closer to him, the more I experience difficulty in life: problems with finances, problems in the family, problems in the workplace, problems with my health, neverending problems”.
While some are confused with their faith, those were only some of their sentiments.
What about you? What are your sentiments for not believing in Christ?
There was a man who was an atheist for seven years for some reason.
He thought he was right for all those years; he rebelled against God until he found out he was wrong.
He thought that in not believing he would be happy, but he was wrong.
“Thanks be to God,” he said.
He was thankful for the enlightenment and Christ being sent to him, who changed his life. Life felt it would be happier for him than ever before.
We all want to be happy. We have programmed ourselves into it as our aim for such a long time.
But what deprives us of being happy?
Is it really because we are close to the Lord? Or is it because we are further away from the Lord?
We need to be attached to the true vine of life and happiness.
Your problems are not permanent. Aside from God, there is only one permanent thing - your soul.
Don’t give up. Don’t compromise your faith; God is just pruning you to bear even more fruit.
You are not alone in this world. There are millions of people facing the same problem as you.
Try to sit down in silence, close your eyes, empty your mind, and listen to the voice of the Lord.
