The Fire Danger Period in Indigo Shire officially ends next Tuesday, April 7 though the CFA warns there is still a heightened risk with dry conditions expected to persist into autumn.
Residents are urged to remain alert as the conditions can still lead to fast-moving grassfires, even in cooler weather.
CFA Deputy Chief Officer for North East region Gavin Thompson, said recent fires had shown less intensity due to some recent rainfall and the cooler nights brought dew in the mornings that further reduces the fire risk.
Even with milder weather, landowners should take precautions to ensure conditions are safe before burning off, and that someone attends all times to monitor the burn.
