On the cross country tracks of the Riverina, Bunnaloo Primary School's Aiden Fitzpatrick raced to a great finish to the last school term.
The year 5 student had been named age champion in his event at the Deni Small Schools Cross Country Carnival, competing against his peers from Conargo, Blighty and Mayrung.
Fitzpatrick then ran at the Deniliquin and District Cross Country Championships to finish a brave third and qualify to attend the Riverina Carnival in Gundagai.
Later, at the Riverina event in both chilly and hilly conditions, Fitzpatrick ran one of his best times to finish 19th overall.
