The exhibition will be featured at the Cohuna Art and Craft Gallery throughout June, displaying photographs taken during the 2022 floods.
With more than 100 images taken by residents, the exhibition offers a glimpse into the impact of the 2022 floods and celebrates the community’s response to Gannawarra’s second major flood in 11 years.
“It has been fantastic to see how this exhibition has been embraced by the community, both through the photographic submission period and its tour through the Gannawarra,” Gannawarra Mayor Ross Stanton said.
Cohuna is the third stop of the exhibition’s tour, after a popular stop at Murrabit.
All items in the exhibition are professionally presented and will be returned to contributors following the tour.
“Council is aware that community members who were impacted by the floods are at various stages in their recovery and that feelings and emotions are a normal part of recovery,” Cr Stanton said.
“Support continues to be available for impacted residents and information will be provided as part of the exhibition if revisiting images from the floods causes concern.”
The Gannawarra Flood Reflections Exhibition will be at the Cohuna Art and Craft Gallery from Wednesday, June 5, until Friday, June 28.
The gallery is open from 10am to midday on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, or by appointment by phoning 0429 103 180, and is located at 23 King Edward St, Cohuna.
