Local fans Bob Baker and Jett Kervin will be among the many Australians tuning in from home to cheer on their teams.
Long-time Lions supporter Bob Baker has been a loyal fan for over 60 years, long before the merger between Brisbane and Fitzroy, which formed the Brisbane Lions.
Mr Baker said he was expecting a tough game from the Cats, but he remained hopeful that the Lions would pull through.
“It’ll be a good day, and I’m hopeful. Just hopeful,” he said.
“I think we’ll go well, but I think Geelong with that extra week’s break that they’ve had and the few injuries that we’ve got, some of our better players, it might be very difficult.”

After being eliminated in the preliminary final in 2024, the Cats have returned this year with a vengeance.
During their qualifying final against the Lions, the Cats kept a steady lead before driving home their 38-point win in the last quarter.
With a convincing 30-point win against Hawthorn in the preliminary final last week, the Cats are keen to keep up their winning streak.
Like many AFL fans, young Jett inherited his love for Geelong from his dad and is confident the Cats will be victorious this weekend.
“I think Geelong should win. I think after what we did against them last time, I reckon we’ve got the upper hand on them,” he said.
“(Geelong) have been pretty consistent, it’s been good. We’ve only lost, I think, like four or five games.”
The grand final will kick off at 2.30pm on Saturday, September 27 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
