Grants of up to $50,000 are available through the Veterans Capital Works Grant Program to upgrade facilities used by organisations to support veterans and their families.
The Restoring Community War Memorials and Avenues of Honour Program assists not-for-profit organisations in conserving, protecting, and updating local monuments.
State Member for Murray Plains Peter Walsh said the grants ensured tributes remained appropriate.
“Honouring the service and sacrifice of those who defended our freedoms is a responsibility we all share,” he said.
“These grants will help communities preserve that legacy for future generations.”
For the memorials grant, two stages of funding are available.
Stage one offers up to $10,000 for planning and design work, and stage two offers up to $30,000 for delivering restoration projects developed through planning.
“Virtually every town across my electorate is home to a fitting tribute,” Mr Walsh said.
“These grants provide a great opportunity for local communities to improve facilities for veterans and preserve memorials honouring those who served.”
